Dear Diary, It's Me Eleanor (Pt. 2)

As I made my way back to London, I came up with a cover story to tell my Dad. I couldn't tell him that I sold my shares to his company to my evil Aunt so that I could stay in London because I fell in love with a boy that I had never meet nor talked to. That wouldn't have gone over well. Instead, I told him that I was going to stay in London for a week with a friend whom I met at a summer camp five years prior. Of course my dad was skeptical, but I already knew that he would be. That is why I already had her parent's contact information and adress pulled him. Additionally, I showed him our "intinerary" and even booked my flight back home. Little did he know that I wouldn't actually be on the flight back to Ireland, but I would deal with that later. After hours of showing him "proof" of my stay in London, he finally agreed.

As soon as my Dad and sisters left for the airport, I took a train to Oxford. I know what you are thinking.. I don't even know this boy's name or where he lives. However, I do know what school he goes to.. Oxford (at least that is what his sweatshirt said). Once I arrived at Oxford, I began my search for this boy. How hard could it be? Just in case you were wondering, it was very hard and very time consuming. . Apparently there are a lot of people who look like Milo. Yes, I figured out his name! I figured out his name because I spotted him in the courtyard and with the help of a professor. Overall, this whole finding out his name process took me a month in total. This meant that I only had one month left in London to make him fall in love with me.

Once Milo and I meet, it was magical. Purely, magical, (even though he did not recognize me as the one who saved him from being hit by a car). Milo and I had so much in common and I could tell that he felt the same way about me that I felt about him. Milo expressed to me that he loved me and wanted me to move in with him soon. He even hinted at getting engage in the future. My fairtale was coming true. Not only did I get to live in a big city, but also I found the man of my dreams. Everything was perfect.. until it wasn't.

One morning, Milo told me he needed to talk to me. Note to my future self, that typically means that something bad it about to happen. Milo then proceeded to word vomit and tell me that we had to stop seeing eachother. He told me that he loved me and wanted to be with me but he couldn't. Why the sudden change you ask? Milo's parents informed him that he had to marry the daughter of his father's new business partner. Essentially, it was a business deal. I couldn't believe that Milo would actually go through with this. I mean I sort of get it because she was very pretty, but surely that wasn't enough.

I was in denial about Milo getting married to another women until it happened. I knew how serious Milo was about marriage, (and how he only wanted to be married once to someone he loved) so I didn't think they would actually go through with it. Not only did he marry her, but it seemed ... happy. I guess over their engagment, they discovered that they did in fact have strong feelings for one another.

So Diary, now do you understand why I am dissapointed in myself? I gave up everything for a boy who didn't even love me. There is no way I can go back to Ireland, as my Dad has disowned me. My sisters won't even talk to me. What should I do? How do I fix this? Is it even possible to fix?

Sincerely,

a heartbroken and homeless Eleanor

Author's Note

Did I need to make another author's note since it is the same story I can I keep the original one?

This story is loosely based upon The Little Mermaid. In the original version of The Little Mermaid, the youngest mermaid is finally able to go above the surface of the water on her fifteenth birthday. One day, when she is looking above the surface, she spots a boat that has a prince on it. Unfortunately, that boat wrecks and the prince is thrown into the sea. The mermaid is able to rescue him and falls in love with him, even though he has no idea who she is. The mermaid goes to the wicked sea witch in order to turn into a human, since mermaids can't survive outside of water. The wicked sea witch gives the mermaid legs in exchange for her angelic voice. (She steals her voice by cutting out her tongue). This deal has one catch; if the prince doesn't marry the mermaid, she will turn into foam. Even though her humans legs cause her so much pain and she cannot speak, she is able to live outside of water, she finds the prince and they fall in love, well, sort of. The prince ends up marrying another princess, and the mermaid ends up going to an in between place for three hundred years. She will only be able to return to earth after that time period.
