Poetic stories dealing with three thousand year's worth of working lives specially tailored to museum settings!

Telling stories of real working people, those often overlooked souls, brought back to life through the power of words. Dean Fraser has a fascination for the engineering of the Industrial Revolution, and we stop off there for the middle portion of the show. Finally coming bang up to date with the early evolvement of what would become the IT industry of today. Moments of poignancy giving us pause to perhaps view our own lives in a greater context. All delivered with Dean Fraser's trademark warmth and openness to questions from his audiences.

How long does the event last?

One hour, although it often ends up being a little longer so Dean has ample time to answer all of his audience's questions. He brings along copies of his book for his audience to purchase if they wish.

A Brief History of Dean Fraser

Quite by accident, Dean Fraser somehow became a performance poet fifteen years ago.

Enjoying poetry, Dean went along to see a theatrical collective known as 4 Poets. When a member very publicly quit, a call was made out to the audience for his replacement. Guess who put his hand up?!

Already an organiser of Music Festivals for his day job, Dean soon began to get 4 Poets gigs far and wide. He wanted to take 4 Poets national, sadly the other three members didn't quite share his enthusiasm for his big plans. Leading to Dean finally having his John Lennon moment and quiting 4 Poets to pursue a solo career.

Within a year, Dean found himself resident poet on a local TV channel, presenting Beyond Poetry radio show with a listenership of around half a million each week, and that's when the email from Glastonbury Festival arrived!

Without venturing into the political, 'lockdown' as it's become known, served as a pattern interrupt for Dean Fraser. Leading to him concentrating solely on public performances at his favourite venues, those he would quite likely wish to visit anyway, namely museums 🙂
