The "Alphabetic Signs" series finds its roots in different places: in my physical work, in a study on letters and typefaces, but also in graffiti and street art.
Through Generative Art, I sought to give continuity to the style my physical pieces by connecting two worlds: the “old” world of material paintings, and the new world of algorithm-generated art. Generative art has allowed me to create many more combinations by introducing greater variability in the elements.
In this project, the alphabetic signs were forced into a matrix to give order to the chaos produced by the pseudo-random composition of alphabetic signs. I wrote the Javascript code to compose 31 different alphabetic elements, which include the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet.
Each alphabetic element is coded to adapt to different areas on the canvas, tightening, stretching and expanding.
In this project I was inspired by the symbols of the ancestors.
Prehistoric signs found in caves and hieroglyphs from different eras, such as the Inca or the Sumerian ones.
