If you want a compact, versatile gun storage solution that lives inside your cabin and adapts to any vehicle seat configuration, choose DDOUT Truck Gun Rack; if you need a rugged, permanent mount for off-road trails that secures heavy firearms outside the window without drilling, choose Blaihild Universal Truck Gun.
• DDOUT Truck Gun Rack: Strengths lie in its adjustable internal fit and foldable design for easy stowage; trade-off is that it relies on straps rather than rigid mounting. This pick is for hunters who prioritize interior cleanliness and portability.
• Blaihild Universal Truck Gun: Strengths come from its one-piece steel alloy construction that resists torsion and noise on rough terrain; trade-off is that it requires specific rear window space and cannot be folded away. This pick is for off-roaders and UTV riders who need stable gear retention on bumpy trails.
The DDOUT Truck Gun Rack is designed specifically for those who want their firearms accessible but out of sight while keeping the interior of their vehicle tidy. Its primary function revolves around a universal fit that loops directly around the headrest and seat back. With adjustable nylon straps capable of stretching up to 19 inches at the top and 48 inches at the bottom, this rack accommodates a wide variety of vehicles, including trucks, SUVs, and Jeeps. The dimensions of each unit are 22 inches by 9 inches, allowing it to hold two rifles or shotguns securely against the seat back.
What sets this option apart for many buyers is its practical storage capacity and material durability. Constructed from 900D Oxford fabric reinforced with ribbed nylon webbing, the rack offers significant load resistance and a textured, tactical appearance. Beyond just holding guns, the top Velcro pocket provides a dedicated spot for loose ammunition, cleaning tools, handguns, or flashlights, ensuring that essential gear stays organized during transit. When you are not hunting or transporting weapons, the rack folds down to one-eighth of its original size, making it incredibly easy to tuck into a glove box, trunk, or center console without cluttering your living space.
This product is ideal for the casual hunter or weekend shooter who values flexibility. If you drive multiple vehicles or frequently switch between different cars and trucks, the strap-based system means you can install or remove the rack in seconds without any tools. However, if you are looking for a permanent fixture that feels bolted into the chassis or requires zero movement during high-speed maneuvers, this might not be your first choice. It is best suited for those who need a reliable, non-permanent solution that protects their gear while maintaining a clean cabin environment.

The Blaihild Universal Truck Gun serves a very different purpose, catering to the serious off-road enthusiast who demands stability above all else. Unlike the internal strap system of the competitor, this unit utilizes a No Drill Window Mount design that fits into the rear window space of pickup trucks, ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides. The construction is a single piece of steel alloy, which is explicitly engineered to resist torsion and prevent drops on bumpy trails. This rigid design limits movement and eliminates the rattling and shifting that often plague softer materials when driving over rough terrain.
For the user who spends long hours navigating rocky paths or hunting in remote areas, the stability offered by the steel alloy is a game-changer. The rack holds two firearms securely, along with bows, arrows, and other outdoor gear, clearing scattered clutter from the cabin. Because it does not obstruct window operation or passenger seating, it keeps the interior clear for comfort during long drives and camping trips. The one-piece design ensures that even during sudden stops or sharp turns, the equipment remains steady, significantly improving driving safety by preventing loose items from becoming hazards.
This product is the definitive choice for the off-roader, rancher, or UTV rider who needs a permanent, heavy-duty solution. It is built to handle the rigors of off-road use where vibration and impact are constant threats to gear security. However, it is less suitable for those who need to store the rack when not in use, as the steel frame cannot be folded or compressed like the fabric alternative. If your priority is a rock-solid mount that stays put regardless of how rough the trail gets, and you have the necessary rear window space to accommodate it, this is the only logical choice.
• Best for roof cargo versatility → Neither product is designed for roof racks; however, the DDOUT is better for general cargo organization inside the vehicle due to its modular nature.
• Best for rough off-road trails → Blaihild Universal Truck Gun wins decisively due to its one-piece steel alloy construction that resists torsion and prevents shifting on bumpy roads.
• Best for interior cleanliness → DDOUT Truck Gun Rack is superior because it folds down to 1/8th of its size, allowing for complete removal and compact storage in a glove box or trunk.
• Best for multi-vehicle users → DDOUT Truck Gun Rack is more adaptable with its universal strap fit that adjusts up to 48 inches, easily moving between different trucks and SUVs.
• Best for heavy gear stability → Blaihild Universal Truck Gun offers superior support for heavy firearms and bows, thanks to the rigid steel frame that limits movement compared to fabric straps.
• Best for quick access and setup → Both are quick to install, but DDOUT requires no specific window clearance, whereas Blaihild requires a compatible rear window space.
• Best for additional storage → DDOUT includes a dedicated top Velcro pocket for small items like bullets and flashlights, a feature absent in the steel-only design of the Blaihild.
• Best for noise reduction → Blaihild’s steel design minimizes noise on the trail, while the DDOUT fabric may shift slightly depending on strap tension during transport.
In my opinion, I would buy the DDOUT Truck Gun Rack for my personal daily driver and general hunting trips. While the Blaihild is undeniably robust for extreme off-road conditions, the DDOUT offers a level of convenience and adaptability that fits better with modern lifestyle needs. Its ability to fold away completely means I can keep my truck interior looking clean and professional when the gun isn't needed, and the included storage pocket is a thoughtful touch for organizing small accessories. For those who need a dedicated tool specifically for roof cargo or heavy-duty trail riding, the Blaihild has its place, but for the majority of users seeking a balance of security, portability, and utility, the DDOUT is the smarter investment.
