Voices to End FGM/C is mobilizing a critical mass of storytellers and activists from across the globe by bringing them together to share and heal from female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), connect and grow as leaders, and create short videos calling for an end to this harmful practice.

Caren S. Neile, Ph.D, MFA, is a professional storyteller and an affiliate professor at Florida Atlantic University, where she teaches storytelling studies. The former chair of the National Storytelling Network, she performs and teaches throughout the nation and abroad.

I am a registered member of the Chickasaw Nation, an award-winning storyteller, artist, and a founding member of the Chickasaw dance troupe Chikashsha Hithla. I travel around the country with the troupe educating about Chickasaw and Southeastern tribal culture. I also work independently performing at schools, libraries, camps, festivals, and museums.

The Storyteller fountain is a sculptural fountain located in the heart of Five Points South in front of the Highlands United Methodist Church where 20th Street South, 11th Court South & Magnolia Avenue converge. With its realistically-depicted fairy tale creatures gathered around storyteller, the fountain has become a popular local landmark.
