Built in Godot Game Engine, Spring 2024. My first full game project ever.
Dibox represents my first great leap into the design sphere: an sandbox game. The name Dibox is a combination of "Divergent Sandbox."Â
The goal of Dibox was to make as many "toy" objects as I could, to learn how to create in Godot. To this effect, I created five fantastic objects the player can create and mess with, in addition to the trees and the summonable platforms.
Dibox also features basic procedural generation, something I have enjoyed toying with since I started coding.
Dibox's design was inspired by my time with Deus Ex and Mosa Lina, of which I was playing a lot of at the time. I was watching a lot of videos on the design of Immersive Sims, and I decided to try my hand at one.
Dibox is still perhaps one of my favorite projects, and I am endlessly proud to present it as my first game.
