This web page is dedicated to preserving the history of a lesser-known factory Super Stock drag racing vehicle in 1966 affectionately called the D/Dart because it fit into the NHRA D/Stock class.
Officially it was called the 'Maximum Performance 273 Engine Dart Drag Package'
The Dodge Division coded it as D66-HP-1. It was the only Super Stock package Dodge offered in 1966.
The car could be ordered through a Dodge dealer as a Super Stock package and was designed for racing in the D/S (D Stock) class at NHRA, AHRA, and NASCAR drag strips. Plymouth did not offer a factory assembled equivalent.
50 cars were made.
Where are these cars now? Where were the cars in 1966? Dig through your old photos and home movies and see if you have any vintage or recent images of a D/Dart!
Through this web page I hope to locate some of the factory D/Darts, or find more photos that can be shared to preserve their brief racing history.
