Artist Statement
About Myself
I am currently a senior in high school at Maryvale High School's Gifted and Talented Academy, I have enjoyed creating art for as long as I can remember. I am always wanting to improve in everything I do, whether that be in my art or academically. I like to push and challenge myself, it gives me motivation to do better.
Art
When creating art I have always preferred drawing; graphite is my favorite medium. Recently, I have pushed myself to start painting. I'm not entirely confident of myself as a painter but it is very fun. I typically create art pieces of whatever is on my mind at that time. I take a lot of inspiration from my father who I believe is a great artist as well, he has a specialty in charcoal. The natural world also is a big theme in most of my art pieces.
Art Connection
In my art, I hope viewers can see dedication and growth. With every piece I create, I always hope to get better and better each time. Growing as an artist is something I hope everyone allows themselves to do. My art is sometimes connected to the environment around me, whether that be the people or space I'm in. Through my art I hope people can view and understand how much I appreciate my surroundings.
