Pace of play
The pace of play in the internal competition is set out in Article 5a of the Reglement voor de interne competitie (Rules for the internal competion). The translation of the entire Article 5 reads:
Games shall be played according to the FIDE Rules, latest edition insofar as these rules do not provide otherwise.
a. Pace of play: The time for thinking is 1¾ hours per person per game. For a youth player, who is older than 16 years, the time for thinking is 1½ hours.
In a game with a youth player, who is older than 13 years and younger than 16 years of age, the time for thinking is 1¼ hours. In a game with a youth player, who is younger than 13 years of age, the thinking time shall be 1 hour per person per game (The player notes until he has less than 5 minutes of thinking time). A youth player's age on the day of the first round of competition applies for the whole season.
b. Clock start times:
For a game time of 1¾ hours: 4.15
For a game time of 1½ hours: 4.30
For a game time of 1¼ hours: 4.45
For a game time of 1 hour: 5.00.
c. Electronic equipment:
A player may carry switched-off electronic equipment in the player's area. Carrying electronic equipment not switched off in ‘vibrate mode’ is allowed only with the permission of the match leader.
