Data & Complexity Science in Climate and Finance (DCSCF)

Satellite of the Conference of the Complex System Society

University of Exeter

02-09-2024

Financial markets and climate systems are complex dynamical systems characterised by intrinsic complexities and the generation of extensive datasets with significant emerging patterns. A deep understanding of these systems can benefit immensely from methodologies derived from different fields, i.e. complexity science and data science. Those approaches not only facilitate a more in-depth comprehension of the systems' behaviours but also unveil the latent patterns embedded within the data they produce by looking at the problems from a different angle. The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers who delve into the study of Finance, Climate and the intersection of the two through the lenses of complexity science and data science.
