In 2026, an award of $15,000 will be made to one of four invited nominees on the following timeline:
September 2026: Nominees receive an email inviting them to apply.
October 31, 2026: Submissions are due as a reply to the inviting email. Applicants must identify and describe a project completed within the previous year that cost approximately $100,000 or less and has had a notable impact in the enduring work to reduce or prevent the concentration of power and its corrupting effects on American democracy. These submissions may be of any length, but applicants are encouraged to keep them brief -- a one-page description or a few pages of existing project overview is fine.
November 2026: All applicants who apply are invited to engage in a 45-minute interview describing the work and impact of the submitted project and why the team who led it should be recognized, as well as their ongoing work in line with the award. Applicants must provide proof of 501(c)3 status prior to interview.
December 15, 2026: Award winner is notified and $15,000 contribution is made to winning nonprofit organization.
