UK-Canada Digital Communities Exchange (DComX)
You’re invited to a UK-Canada Digital Communities Exchange (DComX) event on 8th May, where HCI researchers from the Universities of Edinburgh and Northumbria in the UK will meet with those from the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and University of Victoria at the Harbour Centre in central Vancouver (https://www.sfu.ca/vancouver/about/our-locations/harbour-centre.html).
We will be organising a day of short (ten minute) talks and panel discussions and we invite faculty and students to submit a mixture of accepted and rejected CHI papers and other works in progress to make this an engaging pre-CHI event (and a chance to get together with like-minded HCI people).
Also on the day we will be talking about future opportunities for student exchange and hearing from the Directors of two new Centres for Doctoral Training AI in the UK that use HCI design principles to inform the development of future AI initiatives.
Afterwards, we’ll open discussions, exchange insights and join together for food and drinks.
We’d love for you to be part of this collaborative exchange.
To register and/or present a talk please fill out this form!
If you’d like to attend and meet other researchers in your field or would like the opportunity to present your own research, then please complete this form by 10th of April
We are also hosting a Post-CHI event in Newcastle, UK called the Digital Civics Exchange from the 20th-30th of May.
