BLUF: The Wing Diversity and Inclusion Council is supporting the 23rd Annual Back to School Drive, and we need your help!
The Magnet Nurse Champions and the Professional Development Council at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital have teamed up for the 23rd Annual Back to School Drive. This event is in benefit of families served by the Kids Mobile Medical Clinic.
Kids Mobile Medical clinic is a 501 (c) (3) organization, that provides holistic healthcare to children from birth to 21.
Donations, including “stuffed” backpacks, supplies, and gift cards will be accepted until Tuesday, August 20. Monetary donations can be sent via donations link below. Specify that donation is for this Back to School Drive

2. Fashion show (30 may) - volunteers/ unit members interested in showcasing traditional attire (must already have your own traditional Asian attire to showcase, i.e. Kimono, Hanbok, Saree, Barong tagalog, etc.

EVENT PROGRAM INCLUDES: Food truck vendors, Panel discussion, Dance performances, fashion show and more.
CLOSED EVENT: Open only to Current military/civilian members assigned to units on JBA, in the DCANG and in the DCARNG.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Each committee has one chairperson position.
Council is always looking for volunteer committee members regardless of duty status.
Research & Analysis Committee - Unlimited members allowed on committee
Create, advise and distribute annual, semi-annual or quarterly Newsletters and surveys as applicable
Provide unit specific and applicable DMV metrics data as it pertains to council initiatives, representation, awareness and observance.
Monitors and manages awareness surrounding changes in Diversity and Inclusion publications in the Air Force, National Guard and Federal Government
Contributes Ideas, time and or support
Event & Training Committee - Unlimited members allowed on committee
Plan and/or help coordinate council hosted or supported events. Examples: Family day, Cultural observance events, Third party training opportunities, Resilience tactical pauses, Workshops, New or existing personal and professional development programs.
Upon request from HRA, members can volunteer to help with coordinating training opportunities.

Group Representatives – 2-8 Members per group
Point of contact for WDIC
Support information flow from group to the WDIC and from WDIC to the group: Ideally a representative would come out to meetings and events and pass the information along to their leadership and members.
Examples include but are not limited to: Announcements at commanders calls, announcements at leadership meetings in group/squadron, one on one discussions with your leadership to share and spread information, recruiting members to come out to events, observances or meetings to learn more about the council. Be a point of contact for members to share ideas or provide feedback.
