1.2 Background of the Organization

Dilla College of Education is a premier teacher training institution situated in Dilla Town, the administrative center of the Gedeo Zone within the South Ethiopia Regional State (SER). The college is strategically located along the main international highway connecting Addis Ababa and Nairobi, at geographical coordinates 6°24'30"N latitude, 38°18'30"E longitude, and an elevation of 1,570 meters. Officially established in 2005 E.C. (2012 GC), the institution holds the mandate to equip the region’s next generation of educators for pre-primary, elementary, and middle-level schools. The college currently operates with 14 distinct academic departments and is staffed by a diverse faculty of 191 Teacher Educators (163 male and 2 female educators specifically noted).

In the modern educational landscape, the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is no longer an option but a necessity. Dilla College of Education (DCE), established in 2005 E.C. (2012 G.C.), stands as a pillar of teacher training in the South Ethiopia Regional State (SER). With a mandate to prepare educators for pre-primary, elementary, and middle-level schools, the college manages 14 distinct academic departments and a faculty of 191 teacher educators.
