Please note that the student's Special Education Case Manager is the primary point of contact for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the student's Transition Plan.
The Case Manager works directly with the student, family, school staff, and community partners to ensure that transition goals and services align with the student's postsecondary plans, including education, employment, training, and independent living goals.
If you have questions regarding your student's Transition Plan, transition assessments, goals, activities, or required documentation, please contact your student's Special Education Case Manager directly.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting students as they prepare for life after high school.

If you don't find something that works for you, can email organizations and ask them: What employment opportunities or career readiness programs do you have available for individuals with developmental disabilities, as they turn 18 and graduate from high school.

I’m reaching out to share upcoming BroadFutures opportunities for neurodivergent high school graduates and young adults. While our programs are only open to students who have graduated from high school, I’d love your help spreading the word to alumni who could benefit!
❄️ Winter Internship Program | Feb 1–April 23, 2027 | Apply by October 30
Our 12-week program in DC combines paid work experience with professional skills training and ongoing support. This winter, participants can explore opportunities in a range of fields, including:
Technology & Data Analytics: Contribute to internal AI projects and strategy research at a national nonprofit.
Communications & Marketing: Create social media content, graphics, and blog posts at a museum, or support media and event production at a TV studio.
Hospitality: Rotate across operations departments at a major hotel on the DC Waterfront.
General Administration: Coordinate events and support community initiatives, or help manage the box office and promote shows at a performing arts center.
Policy & Research: Support constituent services and draft memos in a Senate office.
🏔️ Success Summit | January 12–15, 2027 | Apply by December 1
This four-day, in-person experience in Washington, DC, helps neurodivergent young adults build career readiness and leadership skills through interactive workshops, guest speakers, and social activities.
🎓 Career Readiness Workshops for Your Students
BroadFutures can also bring (free!) interactive career-readiness workshops directly to your school. Topics include mock interviews, personal pitches, professional communication, and resume writing. These workshops can help juniors and seniors with disabilities prepare for life after high school, and I’ve attached a flyer with more information.
🖥️ Virtual Info Session | Thursday, October 22, at 7 PM
Students, families, and alumni interested in learning more about the Winter Internship Program or Success Summit can register here.
Please feel free to share the attached program flyers with alumni, families, and colleagues. With the Winter Internship application deadline approaching on October 30, we’d especially appreciate your help connecting interested graduates with these opportunities.
I’m happy to answer questions, help identify alumni who may be a good fit, or discuss bringing a workshop to your school. Thank you for helping us connect more neurodivergent young adults with meaningful career-building opportunities!
