Materials:
Instrumental music (a long track or playlist), drawing utensils (markers, pencils, etc.), and paper.
Instructions:
Listen to the instrumental music and allow yourself to be fully in the moment. As you listen, draw what you're feeling and hearing in any way that makes sense to you. Don’t worry about what it looks like. Focus on translating sound and emotion into shapes, colors, and movement on the page.
Goals:
This prompt encourages mindful awareness through the senses, specifically sound. It helps build the DBT skills of participating and being in the moment. This activity supports present-focused attention and nonverbal emotional expression.
