Materials:
Paper and drawing materials such as markers, colored pencils, or crayons. Optional: collage materials.
Instructions:
Draw a map that represents your personal boundaries. These boundaries can be physical, emotional, or social. Use metaphors such as fences, rivers, walls, bridges, or force fields to show how you protect yourself, your space, and your values or needs. Include paths or gates if there are times when people are welcome to cross into your space.
Goals:
This activity helps increase awareness of your boundaries in relationships. It encourages reflection on how you protect yourself and where you may need to set or adjust limits. This supports DBT interpersonal effectiveness skills like saying no, asking for what you need, and maintaining self-respect.
