The University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics Population Health Informatics Special Interest Group (PopSIG ) meeting will take place Tuesdays at 9.00am - 10.00am UT time (starting on Tuesday Jan 26th 2021) . Given the current COVID pandemic we will be meeting remotely for the foreseeable future.

To bring together folks with common interests in Public Health Informatics (and related areas like Consumer Health Informatics, Global Health Informatics, and Behavioral Informatics) to share and get feedback on research and proposals in progress, explore the literature, and discuss opportunities for informatics to enhance population health. We aim to increase collaboration across the broader University community and the public health informatics practice community, including the Utah Department of Health and Salt Lake Valley Health Department.
Meetings will be weekly and will consist of the following:
Research in Progress discussion led by a student (particularly more senior students)
Journal club meeting reviewing a paper of interest
Faculty/guest informal presentation on a topic of interest to the group
Brown bag or other open meetings in other departments or organizations
