June 10th, 2019 Wee Care Center: After I spoke today to the kids at the Wee Care Center they presented me with a thank you poster with each of their signatures on it. What a great inquisitive group. The places my skateboard has taken me and the people I have reached. It's my 17th year as a professional skateboarder, my full time gig. My real paycheck in what I do are things like this. Feeling grateful.

June 3rd, 2019 Yocaher Skateboards: Proud to announced I'm riding for Yocaher Skateboards out of Los Angeles, California. I've rejoined forces with them after many years. They made my first two pro model skateboards back in 2003 and gave me my first full page Transworld Magazine ads. April 17th, 2019 Florida Boys and Girls Club: Had an amazing time speaking to the Boys and Girls Club of Palmetto Florida. Everyone was very welcoming and assertive to my program. Many thanks to the staff and everyone at the club.Several exciting events ahead for summer 2019!
April 5th, 2019 DreamWakers Speaking: I had a great time speaking today to Ms. Contton's class. It's been awesome working with DreamWakers reaching so many students through their hosted chat events. The students had great questions and positive energy. Lots more to come!
March 14th, 2019 Champions Of Sports Museum: It's hard to put into words my attendance at the VIP reception for the opening of the Ohio Champion of Sports exhibit at the Ohio History Connection museum. It is surreal to be a part of the exhibit and unreal to see my skateboard shining proudly in an illuminated showcase. A flat screen plays the interview about my life filmed over a year ago. I can't believe it all came to fruition after two years in the making. To be beside only a selected amount of professional athletes chosen for this exhibit is truly an honor that I will remember for a lifetime. Many special guests attended this VIP reception, including my family, other athletes and the Ohio governor. There was even an appetizer named after me resting on a skateboard. My entire career as a professional skateboarder has led up to this moment and I am extremely humbled at this monumental milestone.
January 15th, 2019 Big Wave: Fun in the '80s Exhibit: My exhibit Big Wave: Fun in the '80s begins it's tour now at the Wayne County Public Library until the end of February. The exhibit is located at the library in the central gallery. Go back to a neon time with objects that will totally bring radical and tubular memories from the gnarliest decade in history. November 5th, 2018 - Ohio History Museum: Today one of my pro model skateboards was handed over to the Ohio History Museum for their Champion of Sports exhibit about professional athletes. I'm still so honored to be a part of all this. It was strange to see them put on the gloves and wrap up my skateboard for their inventory in the museum. October 30th, 2018 - Jumpin' Pumpkins Readings: Had a great time reading my new kids book Jumpin' Pumpkins to a special group of students. It's been a blast this week visiting all these schools and sharing my new book with everyone. It's been awesome bringing my book to life with such a captive audiences. I love the process of writing and creating and having my work fall into the right hands. Inspiring and reaching people is the most important thing I can do. Always thankful and grateful to where my life has landed me.
September 21st, 2018 - New Book!: My new book is called Jumpin' Pumpkins. It's my seventh book and my third kids book. It's hard to believe. I really enjoyed working on this project. August 31st, 2018 - New Pro Model: Introducing my new pro model The Doug Brown Vice. This is my 16th pro model skateboard. It's hard to believe. August 12th, 2018 - Howard HCC Event: Had a great time at the Howard event with 16:15 complete with face painting, spray painting, games, food, good tunes, skate clinics, and great people. We only had a small cement pad to throw down our demo but it was a blast! The rain cleared away allowing us to speak, skate, and reach the community.
July 17th, 2018 - Landwave Photo Shoot: Been on the road. Had a great photo shoot today at the Landwave Ramps headquarters. 5 hours in the sun skating all day with loads of different ramp setups. It's been a super busy month and I'm glad to say I made it to my 45th birthday. So much ahead, stay tuned!

June 21st, 2018 - National Go Skate Day: Had a great Go Skateboarding Day! The day started with an early meeting with the Ohio State History museum's crew to donate items of mine for their exhibit about professional athletes. Then it was direct to the Wooster Skatepark for the national Go Skateboarding Day event in my hometown of Wooster. What a great day. Thanks to everyone who came out - perfect weather, good vibes, good tunes, good food, and great skateboarding.
June 11th, 2018 - Wee Care Center: I had a great time speaking to the children at Wee Care Center today. Nothing beats inspiring hope into young minds. They were such a great group full of enthusiasm and interest in my program. Thanks Jill Woods for making it all happen.

May 22nd, 2018 - Guys With Ties: Today I was the featured speaker at the "Guys with Ties" final event for Plain Local Schools and Marlington Local Schools at Middlebranch Elementary. It really was a super special group. The Guys With Ties program is for 3rd through 5th grade boys. Lessons are taught in everything from giving a proper handshake, setting goals, respecting others, and so much more. Their motto is Look good, Feel good, and Do good. What a great program to help these young men turned into young gentlemen. Many thanks to Kent Hamilton for reaching out to have me come speak and be a part of this special event.
May 20th, 2018 - Mt. Vernon 16:15 Skate Competition: On the road. Had an amazing day at the Mt. Vernon skate competition with 16:15. Thanks to all the great skaters who came out for this event. We dodged the rain but pulled through with a full day of skating, great vibes, and great people. After the comp we all headed to the 16:15 headquarters and indoor skatepark for an unforgettable skate session. Thank you Robbie for the hospitality, food, and putting on an awesome event. March 2nd, 2018 - Ohio State History Museum: What a truly special afternoon. I had a film crew interview me about my life and my career. I will be part of the Ohio State History museum's exhibit about professional athletes. I had no idea of the size of this project. There will be a 15ft high photo of me with objects from my career and a flat screen playing my interview. I'm beyond honored to be a part of this.

October 3rd, 2017 - Historical Society: The Historical Society contacted me about having some items of mine from my career for their permanent collection. Today I got to drop off the items and have a private tour. I'm so honored to be a part of this. I remember going on a field trip in grade school to visit the Historical Society. September 30th, 2017 - Dream Big at North Lake: Had such a great time today speaking at North Lake. Thanks to the Richland Outreach Center for all your help. June 24th, 2017 - Cardington Street Festival: Had an amazing weekend on the road. Just today I skated four different skateparks. The Cardington Street Festival was a blast. June 21st, 2017 - National Go Skateboarding Day: Go Skateboarding Day was awesome today in my hometown of Wooster. Skated non-stop from 12-9pm with great vibes and great people. I was glad I chose to spend the day in the town I began skating in back in 1986.

April 9th, 2017 - 27 Years Ago Today: Today I honor my mother's memory. 27 years ago today she passed away. This photo was taken today. The sun is shinning with a hidden cloud above. I'm skating for her on this day. Skateboarding was there for me back then and is still here for me today. The medallion graphic on my skateboard is a photo of the actual medallion necklace my mother used to wear throughout her life. My father gave it to her as a gift many years ago. God I miss her. I'm fully alive and live life to the fullest to honor her. I keep her spirit alive through everything that i do.

December 16th, 2016 - STEAMM Academy Hartford Middle School: I can't say enough great things about the STEAMM Academy that I spoke to today. It was a long drive and an early 8am speaking engagement with the students but it was well worth it. They were such a great energetic group and receptive to my program. Many thanks to Bernie Caldwell and the staff at Hartford middle school for everything. It's visits like this that are a constant reminder of why I do what I do.

December 7th, 2016 - Christmas in Cardington and Book Signing: Just got home from an amazing evening at the Christmas in Cardington event. Thanks to everyone who came out to the library book signing! Was great to see so many happy faces with so much Christmas in the air. Was great traveling on the snowy roads to Cardington for the book signing at the library. I passed through the neighboring town of Mt.Gilead where my parents grew up and fell in love. The warm sentimental memories and feelings I had while visiting there filled me up with joy. I also visited my mother's grave in that town. A lot of what I do is to honor my mother's memory and to keep her spirit alive. Today was a special day for many reasons.
November 29th, 2016 - STEAMM Academy at First Glance Skatepark: Had a great time today with the students of STEAMM Academy at First Glance Skatepark. Their class project was to build their own skateboards and learn the physics behind skateboarding. As a reward in completing the class project their teacher loaded them up in a bus and had me join them in a great skate session. Next week I will be speaking to the whole student body as an assembly with my Dream Big program. Many thanks to coach Caldwell and all his students, and everyone at First Glance. - Doug

October 8th, 2016 - Rotary Club Speaking and More.: I had a wonderful time speaking to the Rotary Club. It was an honor to speak to so many of the community's business and professional men and women. Summer 2016 was amazing! So many great events and travel. Spoke to lots of Boy's & Girls Clubs past month along with a book signing and some children's hospital visits. July 26th, 2016 - Akron Children's Hospital Visit: Today I went to Akron Children's Hospital to visit a very special young man named Zeke. Less than a week ago he was in an awful skateboard accident. Today I was able to hopefully bring some encouragement and smiles into his day. His mother and aunt made the surprise visit happen. I'm always grateful to do visits like this. I assured Zeke and his family that I will always be there for them if they need me. I assured him that adversity and these hard times will only make him stronger and to not let this accident define who he is and will become. My dad was a doctor, my mom was a nurse, my brother is a doctor. I was the black sheep till I figured out being a pro skater gave me a microphone to reach others. I wasn't just speaking at schools, libraries, and detention centers. I was entering hospitals because of my skateboard. So now after years of doing these hospital visits my family apple hasn't fallen so far from the tree. Getting a smile and thumbs up from Zeke made the trip today worth while.
July 21st, 2016 - Zumba with ESPN Paula: Another packed day. Tonight I made an appearance at the Z Factory Zumba dance studio with Paula Jacobs instructor for ESPN. Paula and her crew took me out to dinner after Zumba in downtown Southington. Was the best way to end today, many thanks. I'm back in my hotel for a good nights rest. July 20th, 2016 - Waterbury Boys & Girls Club, Children's Hospital Visit, In-Store Signing: Today started with speaking at the Waterbury's Boys & Girls Club. What a great group! I had spoke here a few times before and each time the groups get bigger. After my speech and autographs it was straight to St. Mary's Children's Hospital to bring some smiles to some very special kids. Janet from Play it Again Sports and I share a common passion of making a difference in the life of a child. One young man in particular we saw named David plays wheelchair basketball and wants to be a motivational speaker. His family was so appreciative of our visit. Many thanks to everyone at CCMC for letting us come and bring some smiles to those in need. After the events today it was perfect to finish the evening off at Southington's Play it Again Sports in-store signing. Many thanks to everyone that traveled near and far to meet me. Made a lot of new friends and fans. After the signing we all headed to Dominoes in Southington. Janet had all her employees join us for a fun celebratory VIP dinner. The managers had a table just for us including a nice welcome message for us on their wall. I'm now back at the hotel for a nice workout then off to bed.
July 19th, 2016 - Taft Summer Enrichment Academy: Last night I flew from Cleveland airport to Hartford Connecticut to meet Janet from Play it Again Sports for some great events. Checked into my hotel suite and it was lights out. After waking up and free breakfast I was picked up at the hotel from the PIAS crew and headed to speak to the students of Taft boarding school summer program in Watertown Connecticut. What a great group! The kids were so receptive and tuned into my program. This place has a remarkable campus. They treated myself and the PIAS crew to a nice lunch. Many thanks to Janet and everyone at Taft for having me come speak. Back to the hotel then dinner with the crew. Tomorrow I'll be speaking to a Boys & Girls Club then visiting the Connecticut Children's hospital. Till then!
July 16th, 2016 - Day of Hope Walk 2016: I had an amazing day speaking at the Day of Hope Walk 2016! So many amazing people, teams, friends, fans, and positive energy. Many thanks to Hope For This Step for putting this all together! Stepping together through suicide, & overdose awareness, and prevention. Ending the event with everyone lifting up balloons at the top of the hill, amazing. Each balloon had something written on it to honor those who are no longer with us. July 13th, 2016 - The Spot YMCA Summer Camp: Lots of smiling faces at today's speaking engagement at The Spot YMCA summer camp. I had my 43rd birthday a few days ago. Hard to believe. I feel great! This summer marks my 15th year as a professional skateboarder. I never thought I would be where I am today. Never let anyone take away that dream from you. Chase your dream for the right reasons. Believe me, the true paycheck in life has nothing to do with dollars, fame, or status. In life pay it forward, give back, reach out, care, and make a difference.
June 28th, 2016 - Cardington Street Fair: Had such a great time at the Cardington Street Fair last weekend. Thanks to all the people and skaters that came to join in the fun. Cardington is a town that is close to Mt. Gilead where my parents fell in love and grew up. It's always magical to go back and revisit. I've been invited back to Cardington for over ten years now to this event. The people in the community are awesome. To have the mayor of Mt.Gilead and Cardington and the chief of police come up to me and shake my hand and thank me for coming to town and working with all the kids, awesome. June 8th, 2016 - Dream Big Library Event: What a great day! Many thanks to all those who came to my book signing event at the Cardington Library. There were so many electric smiles and positive vibes. There was a sentimental spark in the air with this little town being steps away from Mt. Gilead where my parents fell in love and where all my family roots are based. My great aunt Jeanne made a surprise appearance and it meant a lot to me. After the event the mayor requested to visit with me about updates to their local skatepark then I finished off the day skating with the local skaters. Tomorrow I'm heading back to my hometown to speak to the Boys and Girls Club. No need to unpack the gear! Till next time!

April 16th, 2016 - Holly House Fundraiser: Today I will be making an appearance and doing a book signing at the Holly House fundraiser. The Holly House Project is awesome. They help the homeless and provide affordable housing options for families. Stoked to be working with the Wayne Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition. This is the logo I created that they chose to use. Where there are drugs in a community there is human trafficking. This is a huge problem that needs addressed and too many communities are pushing this issue to the side. April 13th, 2016 - Child Abuse Prevention Month: Today I'm skating in blue! Today is WEAR BLUE Day for Child Abuse Prevention Month. This is an annual statewide awareness campaign to encourage Ohioans to wear blue to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect. Please support our voiceless victims by wearing blue! Also had a great time walking in the "Walk for Child Abuse" with Wayne County Children Services and the Wayne County Children's Advocacy Center. We can't forget that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and never forget the small acts that help protect children and strengthen families. We must do all we can to prevent the abuse and neglect of children. - Doug
March 10th, 2016 - Fundraisers and More!: It's been a busy few months. I'm still skating all the time, no slowing down. Excited with the news that Outbreak Boards will be releasing my new pro model this spring in celebration of my four year sponsorship with the company! Very thankful for Matt and all the crew at Outbreak for all their support. I've been doing a lot of different events from partaking in Zumba fundraisers to speaking all over the place, and donating countless items from my career to raise money for several causes. A few weeks ago I had the chance to visit Edgewood middle school. I was there back in 1987-88. Was surreal to walk the halls again. They arranged for me to visit and help out a very special student as an interventionist. Happy to help out West Hill Baptist Church by donating some signed goods for their fundraiser. I proudly continue to wear more hats than just "skateboarder" I'm now a member of the Opiate Task Force and the Circle Coalition. Deccember 16th, 2015 - A Christmas Reading: What an amazing night. So many thanks to the friends and families that came out to my Christmas Reading. December 11th, 2015 - Chirstmas in Cardington: Had an amazing day yesterday at the Christmas in Cardington book signing event! I got to bring my father. What made the visit so special was the neighboring town of Mt. Gilead is where my parents grew up and we got to visit and even stop by my mother's grave. My dad hadn't been back to the area in some time. He ran into a lot of people from his past in Mt. Gilead and even at the book signing. To hear the old stories was heart warming. Was glad to have him beside me on this adventure. Thanks to all the friends and fans that came out and joined me in this special evening I will always remember. - Doug
December 5th, 2015 - Make A Wish Zumbathon: Had an amazing time this afternoon at the Make a Wish Zumbathon. Happy to donate some toys and my new children's book to benefit the Wayne County Children's Services Make a Wish program. - Doug
November 19th, 2015 - Women's Empowerment Gradution Ceremony: I had an amazing afternoon speaking at the Women's Empowerment graduation ceremony. What a great group and very proud of these ladies for their achievements. It was an emotional speech that left many in tears and even I got choked up. Speaking of my mother and her achievements pushed me to go many places in my messages I delivered. Was also great to see so many important community members that support this group. Was honored to be invited to speak. Many warm thanks.

October 10th, 2015 - Shelby Skate Comp. Had a great event today in Shelby. I've done events all over the country, big and small. But it's always these smaller towns that have the biggest pulsating hearts. I got the chance today to meet some special families that shared their stories. I met foster kids and kids going through adversity. After the event I had so many parents give me a sincere handshake of gratitude for me being there. Hopefully today I've planted some seeds of inspiration and hope. Thanks to Lamar Melton, Connie Adams, and photographer Brandon Baker for the photos. So much ahead, stay tuned!
September 18th, 2015 - Athletes for Hope "Active Schools Week": Had a great afternoon today visiting Melrose Elementary in my hometown for Athletes for Hope's "Athletes for Active Schools" week.
