About Mr. Lehne

Hi there!  I am Chris Lehne and I am the Director of Bands at Dawson-Boyd Public Schools.

"Music is not what I do, it's who I am."  I am excited and honored to be a part of the prestigious music program at Dawson-Boyd.  From a young age, music has formed me into the person I am today.  Piano lessons at age 8.  Trombone in school bands.  Choirs.  Church anthems.  A music scholarship at Concordia.  Directing opportunities.  And now it is my privilege to help young musicians develop their craft and express themselves!

My teaching experience goes back to the fall of 2001 when I was hired at Dawson-Boyd as a third grade paraprofessional.  The following year I got to work with a class of fantastic first graders!  For the next 15 years, fourth graders taught me about life as I attempted to instill knowledge within them.  During the 2018-19 school year, I spread my wings a bit exploring suburban life in Woodbury, teaching a variety of classes in fifth and sixth grades.  In the fall of 2019, I returned to Blackjack Country and am teaching band for grades 5-12, as well as fourth grade general music.
