A focus group of randomly selected residents partipated in selecting a topic for the Assembly. The participants from the focus group were presented with a range of topics to choose from that were generated from the annual Dayton Survey and pressing issues facing the community. The Ohio State University IDEA facilitated the focus group and provided the findings to the Advisory Board for review and action.
The delegates are selected at random by a process called "sortition." Sortition is the process of selecting delegates at random, in order to obtain a representative sample of City of Dayton residents. The Ohio State University IDEA is leading the sortition process.
