Daymint Privacy Policy

Daymint (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is an offline-first task and reminder app. In normal use, Daymint stores your tasks, reminders, notes, and most settings locally on your device. Daymint does not require account creation or cloud sync to use its core features.
1. Information We Process
a) Information you enter in the app
Daymint stores the content you create in the app, including:
- Tasks
- Reminders
- Notes
- Categories
- Scheduling details
- App preferences you choose
b) Local app and device data
Daymint stores certain app data locally on your device so the app can work properly, such as:
- Theme and appearance settings
- Reminder preferences
- Summary and archive settings
- App lock preferences
- A hashed version of your PIN if you enable app lock
- Onboarding and app state preferences
c) Backup files you choose to create
If you use export or backup features, Daymint creates a backup file on your device. If you choose to share that file using your device’s share options, the file is handled through your device and the apps or services you select.
d) Advertising-related data
When your device is online, Daymint may request ads through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may collect and process certain technical and device-related data, such as:
- Advertising ID
- IP address
- Device and app information
- Ad interaction data
- Diagnostic and performance-related information
This advertising-related processing is governed by Google’s policies and applicable law.
2. How We Use Information
We use information processed by the app to:
- Provide core features such as task creation, scheduling, reminders, and completion flows
- Save your settings and preferences
- Enable optional app lock and reminder-related features
- Create and restore backups when you request it
- Show ads when internet connectivity is available
- Maintain app functionality and reliability
3. Local-Only Storage
Daymint is designed to keep your task content and most settings on your device.
- We do not provide cloud sync for your task content unless we clearly introduce that in a future update.
- We do not operate a backend service that receives your task content during normal app usage.
4. Notifications, Alarms, and Voice Features
If you enable reminders, Daymint may use:
- Notifications
- Exact alarms, where supported by Android
- Optional text-to-speech or voice reminder features on your device
Reminder text may appear on the lock screen or be spoken aloud depending on your device settings and the reminder options you enable.
5. Ads
- Ads are served through Google AdMob when internet connectivity is available.
- When offline, Daymint does not request ads.
- Google’s use of data for advertising is governed by its own policies:

6. Data Sharing
- We do not sell your task content.
- We do not share your task content with us or third parties as part of normal app usage, except when you intentionally export or share a backup file yourself.
- Limited technical and advertising-related data may be collected or shared by Google AdMob and its partners to serve, measure, and protect ads.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local app data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, wipe it from the app, or uninstall the app.
- Backup files remain in the location where you save or share them until you delete them.
- Advertising providers retain data according to their own policies.
8. Your Choices
You can:
- Edit or delete tasks and reminders at any time
- Enable or disable reminders
- Use backup export and restore features if available
- Wipe local app data from within the app settings
- Adjust your device’s ad and notification preferences through system settings where available
9. Security
Daymint uses reasonable measures to help protect local app data. For example, if app lock is enabled, the app stores a hashed PIN rather than storing the raw PIN directly. However, no app or device-based storage method can guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
Daymint is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Daymint may rely on third-party services such as:

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The latest version should always be available at the same public privacy policy URL.
