This policy explains how DayLane, an Android task and daily routine app, handles your information.
Information used by the app
DayLane stores the task text, routine text, selected dates, completion states, queue order, and appearance preferences you create or choose. If you select a personal background photo, the app reads the selected image and saves a resized copy in its private storage for display as your background. It does not request broad access to your photo library.
This information is used to display and manage your daily queues, create daily routine copies, provide home screen widgets, and remember your settings. Task text can contain personal information if you choose to enter it.
The app uses the device's date, time, and time zone to organize daily tasks and refresh the current day. It receives system events such as device restart to restore its daily scheduling.
Collection, sharing, and third parties
DayLane works offline and does not require an account. The current app has no internet permission and does not send your task data or photos to the developer's servers. It contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. The developer does not collect device identifiers or location through the app, and does not sell your app data.
Android's system backup and device transfer features may copy your tasks, settings, and saved background photo according to your device settings and the backup or transfer service you use. Such copies may be handled by Google or your device manufacturer's service. The app configures cloud backup to require Android's supported encryption conditions on Android 9 and later; app backup is disabled on Android 8. Android 12 and later device transfer is also supported. These system services operate under their own privacy policies and settings.
If you select a photo from a cloud-backed document provider, that provider handles your access to the source image under its own policies. DayLane stores the selected copy locally.
If you contact the developer by email, the developer and email service providers receive your email address and the information you choose to send. This information is used to respond to your request and retained only as needed to resolve it and meet applicable obligations. Do not include private task content unless necessary for your request.
Storage, security, and retention
App information is stored in DayLane's private Android app storage and remains there until you delete it or clear the app's storage. Android controls access to this storage. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.
You can edit or delete tasks and routines in the app. Deleting a daily task may retain a record of its identity, date, and routine link to prevent that task from being recreated for that date; the deleted task text is cleared. Switching away from a personal photo background does not delete its saved copy.
To remove all local app information, including the saved photo and remaining internal records, use Android Settings to clear DayLane's storage or uninstall the app. Clearing storage or uninstalling does not necessarily delete earlier system backups or the original photo you selected. Manage backup copies through your device or backup provider's settings. Restoring a backup may restore previously saved app data.
Your choices
You can use DayLane without selecting a photo or creating an account. You control the information you enter and whether to use Android backup features. If you add a home screen widget, task text appears on your home screen and may be visible to others who can view it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app or its information handling changes. Updates will be published on this page with a revised date.
