If you want a durable, sport-ready protective shell to keep your OnePlus Buds Z2 safe from drops and loss, choose DAYJOY 2; if you need upgraded audio fidelity, better noise isolation, and a more secure fit for your existing wired or wireless earbuds, choose PENON ePro EP01.
These two products sit at opposite ends of the accessory spectrum, yet both aim to improve the user experience of in-ear headphones. One is a rugged shield designed specifically for active lifestyles, while the other is an acoustic upgrade focused on sound quality and comfort. Understanding this fundamental difference is the only way to make the right call without wasting money on a product that doesn't solve your actual problem.
• DAYJOY 2: Its biggest strength is providing a shock-proof, anti-slip silicone shell with a keychain for outdoor sports, but it is strictly limited to protecting the OnePlus Buds Z2 charging case and does not enhance audio performance.
• PENON ePro EP01: Its biggest strength is a patented horn-shaped nozzle design using graphene-doped silicone to amplify bass and clarity, but it is a universal replacement tip set, not a hard case, and requires specific nozzle compatibility.
• Best for: The DAYJOY pick is for seniors who prioritize physical protection and never losing their buds during walks, while the PENON pick is for those seeking the best in ear headphones for seniors by improving sound clarity and reducing ear fatigue.
The DAYJOY 2 is not an audio component; it is a piece of safety gear. It is designed as a soft silicone protective case cover specifically for the OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS earbuds. If you are someone who takes their hearing aids or wireless earbuds everywhere—whether hiking, gardening, or just walking around the neighborhood—the risk of dropping the case or losing it entirely is real. This product addresses that fear directly.
The material choice here is critical for the intended user. Made from high-quality soft silicone, the case offers scratch-proof and shock-proof protection. More importantly, it features an anti-skidding surface, which means it is less likely to slip out of a hand or pocket compared to smooth plastic alternatives. The inclusion of an anti-lost carabiner allows you to clip the charging case onto a handbag, backpack, or belt loop. This physical tether is a game-changer for anyone prone to misplacing small electronics.
However, there is a significant limitation you must accept before buying. This item is compatible only with the OnePlus Buds Z2. It does not fit any other model, nor does it contain the earbuds themselves. Furthermore, while it protects the hardware, it does nothing for the listening experience. If your primary concern is how music sounds or whether the device blocks out wind noise, this product will not help. It is purely a container designed for durability and portability. You should buy this if you have already purchased the OnePlus Buds Z2 and need a way to carry them securely during active use.

In contrast, the PENON ePro EP01 is all about the acoustic interface between your ear and your device. These are replacement silicone eartips engineered with a patented horn-shaped nozzle design. They are not a case; they are the part of the earbud that actually sits inside your ear canal. The goal here is to transform the sound signature and physical comfort of almost any in-ear monitor or wireless earbud that fits the specifications.
The standout feature is the material science involved. These tips are crafted from high-quality silicone doped with graphene. This composite material is chosen not just for durability, but for its ability to manipulate sound waves. The patent-pending horn shape is designed to resonate sound waves within the tip, amplifying the voice and spreading the audio output more effectively. For users who find their current earbuds sound muddy or lack punch, this design claims to enhance bass delivery, crisp vocals, and high-frequency clarity. It essentially turns standard earbuds into something closer to a dedicated HiFi IEM (In-Ear Monitor) setup.
Comfort is another major selling point for this product. The "long-lasting comfort" claim stems from the ergonomic horn shape, which ensures a snug, secure fit without excessive pressure. For seniors or anyone wearing headphones for extended periods, ear fatigue is a common complaint. The soft, flexible nature of the graphene-doped silicone aims to reduce this pressure while maintaining stability during movement. Whether you are listening to audiobooks, podcasts, or music, these tips promise to minimize sound loss through transmission and provide better isolation than regular silicone or foam options.
You should consider the PENON ePro EP01 if you already own a pair of earbuds that sound good but feel uncomfortable, or if you feel like you are missing out on the full potential of your device's audio capabilities. The key requirement is compatibility: the inner nozzle diameter is 4.7mm, fitting tube diameters from 4.9mm to 7mm. If your earbuds fall within this range, these tips could be the upgrade you need.

• Best for long listening sessions → PENON ePro EP01: The reduced pressure and ergonomic fit make these superior for hours of continuous wear without soreness.
• Best for versatility → PENON ePro EP01: With S, M, and L sizes included, one package can fit multiple different earbud models, whereas the DAYJOY is locked to a single phone model.
• Best for battery convenience → DAYJOY 2: The cutout design allows you to charge the OnePlus Buds Z2 without removing the protective cover, saving time and hassle.
• Best for durability against elements → PENON ePro EP01: The graphene-infused silicone is washable and flexible, designed to withstand sweat and intense workouts better than standard tips.
• Best value for audio enthusiasts → PENON ePro EP01: A simple change of eartips can significantly alter the sound profile of expensive headphones, offering a high return on investment.
If I were shopping for a senior family member who needs reliable audio gear, I would look closely at what their daily routine demands. For the vast majority of older adults, the priority is clear communication and comfort over rugged storage solutions. Therefore, in my opinion, the PENON ePro EP01 is the stronger recommendation for most people.
While the DAYJOY 2 is a clever accessory for a very specific scenario involving the OnePlus Buds Z2, it solves a problem that many users do not have. Most people do not drop their cases frequently enough to justify a specialized skin, and the audio limitations of standard earbuds are a much bigger barrier to enjoyment. The PENON ePro EP01 addresses the core function of the device: making sound audible and comfortable. By upgrading the eartips, you immediately get better noise isolation and richer sound, which are crucial for active noise cancelling wireless earbuds for seniors or anyone looking for the best earbuds for seniors. The ability to wash the tips and the secure fit also mean less maintenance and fewer adjustments throughout the day. Unless you are specifically a hiker with a OnePlus Buds Z2 who constantly loses things, the acoustic upgrade is the smarter, more impactful purchase.
No, they require a nozzle diameter between 4.9mm and 7mm with a 4.7mm inner fit. They work with many popular models but you must check your specific earbud specs before buying.
Yes, the silicone case features a specific cutout at the bottom that allows the charging cable to connect directly to the OnePlus Buds Z2 without removing the cover.
According to the product data, the patented horn-shaped design and graphene material are engineered to enhance bass delivery and ensure high-frequency clarity compared to standard silicone tips.
The PENON ePro EP01 is designed with a horn shape and soft silicone to reduce pressure and ear fatigue, making it ideal for extended listening sessions compared to rigid or ill-fitting stock tips.
