If you want a durable, splash-resistant protective shell for your existing JBL Live Pro 2 earbuds to keep them safe during active swimming or hiking, choose DAYJOY 2; if you need a complete wireless audio system with low-latency gaming modes and deep bass specifically engineered for in-ear listening, choose Lemin 5.3.
These two products occupy entirely different spaces in the market, yet both appear when buyers search for robust audio solutions. The confusion often stems from vague search terms like "best rechargeable open ear headphones for swimming," which can lead shoppers down the wrong path. One item is merely an accessory designed to shield a specific pair of premium earbuds from the elements, while the other is a standalone set of TWS (True Wireless Stereo) earbuds built from the ground up for immersive sound and extended playtime. Understanding this fundamental distinction is the only way to make a smart purchase that actually serves your needs.
• DAYJOY 2: Its greatest strength is providing heavy-duty, shock-proof silicone protection with a secure carabiner for outdoor sports, but it offers zero audio output on its own as it requires the JBL Live Pro 2 device to function.
• Lemin 5.3: Its biggest advantage is delivering a full 30-hour battery life with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and ENC noise cancellation for clear calls, though it lacks any specific waterproof rating for submersion.
• Who it's for: DAYJOY 2 is strictly for owners of JBL Live Pro 2 earbuds who need extra durability for rough handling; Lemin 5.3 is for anyone needing a new, budget-friendly pair of high-bass earbuds for daily use or gaming.
The DAYJOY product is not a pair of headphones you plug into music; it is a specialized skin sleeve designed exclusively for the JBL LIVE PRO 2 TWS earbuds. If you already own those specific earbuds and are planning to take them to the pool, the beach, or on a rugged hike, this case is your first line of defense. The material is soft silicone, chosen specifically because it is scratch-proof, shock-proof, and anti-skidding. This means if you drop your charging case into a gravel path or bump it against a rock while running, the silicone absorbs the impact better than hard plastic ever could.
One of the most practical features for an active lifestyle is the cutout at the bottom of the case. This design allows you to charge your earbuds without having to remove them from their protective skin. You won't need to fumble with tiny parts or risk losing the case cover while trying to get power back into your buds. Additionally, the package includes a keychain carabiner that can be clipped onto a handbag, backpack, or even a swim belt. This solves the common problem of where to put your earbuds when they aren't in your ears, ensuring they stay attached to your gear rather than sinking to the bottom of a locker room bench.
However, I must be clear about who should skip this item. If you do not own the JBL LIVE PRO 2, this product is useless to you. It does not contain speakers, drivers, or a battery. It is purely a shell. It is designed for "outdoor sports" and general protection against the elements, not as a certified submersible housing. If you are looking for a dedicated pair of sleep headphones for swimming that come with audio capabilities, this is not the solution.

The Lemin 5.3 represents a complete audio ecosystem. It is a standalone set of in-ear wireless earbuds that brings everything you need right out of the box. The core appeal here lies in the Bluetooth 5.3 technology, which ensures a stable connection and supports dual modes: one optimized for music and another specifically for gaming. When you switch to the gaming mode, the latency drops to just 45ms, creating a lag-free experience that is critical for competitive play or watching videos where lip-sync matters. This level of responsiveness is something many budget earbuds simply cannot match.
For those who prioritize sound quality, the Lemin 5.3 utilizes custom 10mm high-sensitivity dynamic drivers. These produce what the manufacturer describes as HiFi stereo with deep bass and a full-bodied sound. Whether you are listening to hip-hop, electronic dance music, or heavy metal, the driver size suggests a powerful low-end performance. On the call front, the device incorporates Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC). This isn't just software filtering; it actively reduces background noise to ensure your voice comes through clearly during phone conversations, making it a viable option for taking work calls in noisy environments.
The battery performance is another major selling point. A single charge delivers up to 7.5 hours of continuous usage, and the included charging case extends the total playtime to 30 hours. This means you can go several days without hunting for a wall outlet, provided you use the case between sessions. The earbuds themselves weigh only 3.6g each, contributing to a lightweight and comfortable fit that stays secure during workouts. The retro sci-fi design, inspired by robot movies, adds a unique aesthetic with a sleek, rounded cybernetic body and smooth matte texture. However, potential buyers should note that while the design is modern, the IP5 rating indicates protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, not submersion. It is not intended to be used as sleep headphones for swimming or worn underwater.
• Best for protecting expensive gear → DAYJOY 2: If you already have JBL Live Pro 2s and fear breaking them during intense activities, the silicone armor is the only logical choice.
• Best for gaming and low latency → Lemin 5.3: With a dedicated 45ms gaming mode, these earbuds are built for gamers, whereas the DAYJOY case has no processing power at all.
• Best for long battery life → Lemin 5.3: Getting 30 hours of total playtime is a massive advantage over relying on the battery of a separate device protected by a case.
• Best for portability and clips → DAYJOY 2: The integrated carabiner and keychain make it incredibly easy to attach to a bag or belt, a feature missing from the standard charging case of the Lemin.
• Best for sound isolation and bass → Lemin 5.3: The in-ear bud design with 10mm drivers provides a much richer, more immersive audio experience than a bare case offers.
• Best for beginners needing a full setup → Lemin 5.3: If you don't own earbuds yet, this is a ready-to-use solution with Bluetooth 5.3, while the DAYJOY is a secondary purchase requiring a primary device.
• Best for rugged outdoor travel → DAYJOY 2: The shock-proof and anti-skidding properties make it superior for tossing into a backpack or gym bag without scratching your devices.
• Best for clear calls in noise → Lemin 5.3: The built-in ENC technology ensures your voice is heard clearly, a feature absent in a passive silicone case.
After analyzing the specifications and real-world applications of both items, my recommendation depends entirely on your current inventory and your primary activity. If your goal is to find the best rechargeable open ear headphones for swimming, neither of these is the perfect tool in the traditional sense, but if you are asking about protection versus performance, the choice is stark.
I would buy the Lemin 5.3 if I needed a new pair of earbuds for daily commuting, gym workouts, or gaming. The combination of Bluetooth 5.3, low latency, and 30-hour battery life makes it a versatile powerhouse that stands on its own. However, if I were specifically preparing for a swimming trip where I needed to keep my existing JBL Live Pro 2 earbuds safe from chlorine and impact, I would grab the DAYJOY 2. It is the only choice for someone who needs to shield a specific device. For general swimming, neither is a dedicated underwater speaker, but the Lemin 5.3 is the superior audio device for land-based activities, while the DAYJOY 2 is the essential guardian for your hardware.
The DAYJOY 2 is a silicone case that offers splash and shock protection but does not certify submersion for the JBL earbuds inside. The Lemin 5.3 has an IP5 rating for dust and water jets but is not rated for swimming or underwater use. Neither is designed as a dedicated waterproof swimming headphone.
No, the DAYJOY 2 case is manufactured with precise dimensions to fit only the JBL LIVE PRO 2 TWS earbuds. It will not fit other brands or models due to the specific shape and button placement requirements.
When combined with the charging case, the total battery life extends to 30 hours.
While the Lemin 5.3 is lightweight and comfortable, it is not waterproof enough for swimming. Parents looking for kids headphones for swimming should seek products specifically rated for full submersion, as the Lemin 5.3 is intended for dry land use.
