Why raise funds?
Honestly and practically, I don’t have a lot of savings because I just started working not long ago, and also in a Christian non-profit organisation, on top of medical bills and bible college fees.
But more than financial needs, I also hope this missions journey is a partnership of prayer in the work of God. I kindly ask for your prayers on top of financial support as this is very much a spiritual work, not just programmes to be completed.
Frankly speaking, I always like being independent and I feel uncomfortable asking for support. But I’m taking this step of faith to see that this ministry doesn’t belong to me but God and His Church. And I am praying that I will lay my ego aside to be used by God as His messenger.
Interestingly, the day that I decided to do support-raising, the sermon at church was on Faith. And my response to God was that I would not be asking out of fear or doubt. I truly trust that God will provide like how He has led me to this trip, and so the amount I’m able/unable to raise would not change my decision.
