Hello! I'm Dawn Lindauer and I currently teach Special Education 9-12 at the Tomah High School. I have lived in Tomah for 18 years with my husband Steve. I moved to Tomah from Phoenix, Arizona in 1992. I have two amazing children, Madison is 17 and a junior at the Tomah High School and Carson is 14 and is a freshman. Both of our kids love to play basketball so we spend a great deal of our time traveling to watch their AAU games.
I have been teaching since 1998 and started as an elementary teacher. Kindergarten was my favorite grade until I pursued my Reading license through Viterbo. At that time I met a Lynda Fernholz who convinced me that I would be a good fit in the middle school environment. As scary as it was I tried it and I loved it! I stayed in that position until 2 years ago when I decided I wanted to work with students with special needs.
I was hired at the Tomah High School in the Fall of 2016 under an emergency license and began my coursework at Viterbo to earn my Cross Categorical license. I have just finished my coursework and am excited to start next year. I feel confident that Viterbo has prepared me to provide my students with Individualized plans to help them meet their goals!
This is not an advertisement for Viterbo, but I can honesty say that Viterbo created an on-line program that allowed me to pursue degree without giving up my family time. Viterbo's program was just what I needed. I worked full-time, earned my degree and never missed a basketball game! Thanks Viterbo!
