Biography

I am Associate Professor in the Strategic Management Department (w/o tenure) at IESE Business School. My research interests include the implications of financial markets for corporate R&D decisions, the role of patent rights for the mobility of knowledge workers and the creation of start-ups, as well as the design and management of technology-based strategic alliances. My work has been published in top-tier academic outlets such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science or Strategic Management Journal, and presented at international conferences such as the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, Strategy Science Conference, Searle Center/USPTO Conference on Innovation Economics, Wharton Technology and Innovation Conference, Munich Summer Institute or IP Statistics for Decision Makers. I have taught courses in competitive strategy and innovation economics to undergraduate students, master students with and without work experience, MBA students, as well as PhD students. I received my Ph.D. in Business and Finance from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Master of Science in Business and Quantitative Methods from the same university, and my undergraduate degree from Technical University of Munich.
