I am an Associate Professor in the Strategic Management Department at IESE Business School. My research interests include the implications of financial markets for corporate R&D decisions, the role of patent rights in the mobility of knowledge workers and the creation of start-ups, as well as the design and management of technology-based strategic alliances. My work has been published in leading academic outlets, including The Accounting Review, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, Management Science, and the Strategic Management Journal. I also serve on the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal. I have taught courses in competitive strategy and innovation economics to undergraduate students, master's students (with and without work experience), MBA students, as well as PhD students. I received my Ph.D. in Business and Finance from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Master of Science in Business and Quantitative Methods from the same university, and my undergraduate degree from the Technical University of Munich.
