David Torun

Welcome!

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in economics at the University of California-San Diego, funded by a 2-year SNSF Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship. I will spend the academic year 24/25 at the Harvard Growth Lab. I am also affiliated with the University of St.Gallen, where I received my Ph.D. in Economics in September 2022.

My research interests include international trade and international economics. I am currently working on projects that study:

• the formation and stability of trade relations

• the propagation of shocks through transportation networks

• the role of history in shaping trade patterns

• the harmonization of product codes over time
