My very first digital pinball design. At the time I knew fairly little of what makes pinball tick (click? buzz?) but I knew about video games and I knew about South Park. The result is a pretty straightforward layout with clear shots and tons of fan service.
Butters' Very Own Pinball Game is part of South Park Pinball, a 2 table pack.
Butters is probably the most fun character in the series and one of the reasons for me is the many costumes he wears. This little fella always changes into something hilarious, lame or super cool.
So I thought he could change into some of these during each main mode. For that we built a stage - a reference to another episode where we learn why his step dancing career ended tragically soon.
Butters becomes Mantequilla and tries to cross the US borders, an ungroundable vampire or Marjorine who infiltrates the girls slumber party to steal the mysterious future telling device. We see him as Professor Chaos of course, a Hawaiian "native" and a biker during a multiball mode.
My first separate mini playfield debuted on this table. Professor Chaos was a must have but I also really liked the Coon and Friends episodes, good thing they crossed over at a certain point.
This little playfield used the awesome comic book art style the series adopted for these episodes. I also found voice lines for each superhero and got the permission to use the originals in the game.
Good Times with Weapons is (was?) one of the most famous episodes where the kids acquire ninja weapons and... what could go wrong?
This table doesn't show any graphic images so fortunately no one gets a shuriken in his eye. But you can fight the ninja alter-egos of Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny as Professor Chaos in pure anime style! In the end you can collect a shuriken which will boost your scores even further. "Let's Fighting Love!"
