We are a Non-Profit youth program, ages 6 to 8th grade, dedicated to the growth of the sport of lacrosse in Davidson County, NC. DYLA's BIG 3, Sportsmanship, Discipline, and Fundamentals, help create more than just lacrosse players. We are in the business of helping raise respectful citizens with a sense of responsibility that will one day give back what they've learned on the field and in our program. Players who graduate from DYLA after 8th grade and move on to high school will be confident, respectful, and ready to play lacrosse at the next level.
Lacrosse in NC is growing rapidly, as many other places in the US, creating many college scholarship opportunities. The Davidson Youth Lacrosse Association, along with the 6 other Non-Profit programs, form the Piedmont Community Lacrosse Association which governs lacrosse in the Triad Area. The PCLA orchestrates a 16 game season for our teams playing 2 games every Saturday in March and April, ending with a championship Lax Fest tournament. We value your time on Saturdays and guarantee the completion of your 2 games in 3 hours or less, leaving the rest of your day to you and your families.
Lacrosse is a contact sport. The league also values the safe development of our players using altered rules and limited contact for our 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th grade teams. Being able to focus on fundamentals and lacrosse IQ in the early stages enables players to develop the skills needed to be successful before initiating full contact. Our middle school league plays by the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Association) rules which will prepare them for the next level of lacrosse.

US Lacrosse is the national governing body that supports programs and leagues like ours. With 100% of players and coaches having memberships, USL provides liability insurance for person and property anywhere we play. They provide scholarships and grants for programs in need or just starting up. Davidson Charter Academy in Lexington NC, received the Physical Education grant in 2018 providing equipment for teaching lacrosse in their PE class. The First Stick program is a grant that provides upwards of 30 sticks and 20 sets of pads depending on your programs specific needs.
