David Schillo’s Daily Responsibilities

Being an 8th grade science instructor, David Schillo has numerous daily responsibilities. Here is a glimpse into the first portion of his everyday duties:

• Prepping and presenting relevant lessons and course materials.
• Organizing experiments and hands-on activities for lab days.
• Creating and assigning homework, regular readings, and long-term science projects.
• Closely evaluating student work and performance margins on exams, projects, and labs.
• Working in concert with fellow teachers, students, parents, and additional school staff to promote student achievement.
• Collaborating with fellow science teachers to organize school science fairs.
• Working both one-on-one and with groups of students to prepare them for upcoming exams.
