It's complete! 9090 parts, after roughly 30 hours of assembly.
In true Lego form, it is entirely snapped together, with no glue or paint used.
The model separates into three sections - bow, center and stern, with detailed cross sections shown in the photos. The three sections lock together with two removable long pins, cleverly concealed under deck sections with vent horns (one shown partially lifted below).
The two engines each have four cylinders (two visible sticking out of the stern section) with rotating crankshaft and pistons. The two engines connect to the outer two screws. Four matching boilers are in the bow section.
92 spare parts (out of 9090). Only one part was missing, and I got a replacement for free from my local Lego store.
