High school can be tough at times, but it'll be all worth it in the end. I started my freshman year of high school in Chandler, Arizona. Before I started high school I lived in Seneca, Kansas. The change was very significant. Moving from a small town to a big city took some time to get used too.
My freshman year of high school I attended this school. This was a big change for me. Five thousand kids attended this school every day. Going to this school had both pros and cons. I began taking courses here and I was very lost at first. I tried out for the football team and continued on playing football for the rest of my time here at this school. After my first semester I switched my schedule and began taking culinary classes. This school has had a huge impact on my future. After my junior year was over I then moved back to small town Seneca, Kansas.
The summer after junior year I was on my way back to Seneca. The start of my senior year was back in what I like to call my Hometown. I was happy to see all of my old friends. Coming back to this community was a little exciting for me. Although I may miss being in a bigger city, I am glad to be back.
I began working my freshman year in high school. I started working for my aunt at her restaurant as a dishwasher. I was just a high school kid looking to make some money at the time. As I continued working for my aunt I then started helping out with prep work and then later on helped with the cooking. That is when cooking became an art for me. At this time I also had a job at a country club as a Banquet server. I then transferred to the kitchen as a cook. Ever since that day cooking has been a very strong passion of mine.
I live with my stepmother and my father. I have four siblings, three brothers and one sister. My family and I get along pretty well for the most part. My sister is now five years old and her name is Kendyl. Two of my brothers are younger than me, they are eight and twelve, their names are Adon, and Brandon. Brandon is in third grade and Adon is in seventh grade. My older brother is 18 years old, his name is Kacen. He recently passed away this December on the seventh of 2018. I love my family.
The military is my future. When I was a freshman in high school I began looking into the military. I looked at all my options before I chose the branch I felt was right for me. I started looking into the military because I have family that has served in the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. I have quite a bit of respect for the men and women that serve this country and fight for our freedom. Everyday there are men and women who put there lives on the line for this country to be the free country that we are today. While looking into each branch of the military I was looking for more of challenge rather than anything else. Bootcamp is the longest out of any other branch of the military and what seems to be the hardest. Becoming a Marine was a dream to me at first, now it is a reality. I have just recently enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. I ship out for bootcamp on June 17th of 2019. I am doing this not only because I have had family in the service, but because I feel obligated to serve my country and fight for our freedom and defend our true colors.
