Davide La Vecchia

Summary


Davide is Full Professor at the Geneva School of Economics and Management, University of Geneva (Switzerland). He is member of Research Center for Statistics (RCS) and he is currently on sabbatical leave, visiting the CREST (ENSAE, Paris). He served as Director of the Master in Statistics and as Director of the Certificat Complementaire en Statistique Appliquée. Before joining the RCS, Davide was Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of St.Gallen (Switzerland) and Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Statistics, Monash University (Australia). He did his undergraduate and master studies in Economics, at Bocconi University (Italy). After two years of experience in the industry as portfolio manager, Davide started in 2004 a PhD in Statistics at Bocconi University.  In 2007, he finished his PhD in Statistics and in 2008 he started a PhD in Economics at Università della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland). In 2011, Davide finished his PhD in Economics. During his PhD studies, he was visiting scholar at the Department of Mathematics, University of Copenhagen (in 2006), and at the Operations Research and Financial Engineering department, Princeton University (in 2010).
