Personal
I'm a big fan of travel, especially anything outdoorsy. I also enjoy weightlifting, and learning to play guitar. I also have a soft spot for informal education, particularly working with individuals with special needs. I'm happiest when spending a day on an outdoors adventure with wonderful people.

My father and I do an annual bike trip together. You can read about them (with pics) on his blog. My mother's career has spanned accounting, rabbinical work, and Bible scholarship, and she is now focused on climate change advocacy. My brother (math Ph.D. at UMich 2011) is currently an actuary at Unum, but more importantly is raising my niece and nephew for me.Â

My connection to Israel began when my father, a mathematician, wrote a book with Adam Shwartz, a professor at the Technion. We used to travel back and forth a lot to let them work. If you look through their websites you can find random old pictures of me as a kid.
