David J. Singh

Curators' Professor Emeritus (pending),

University of Missouri

About Me:

I am a condensed matter theorist with a love of technology and working to find solutions to tough problems. I spent 16 years at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (two as a postdoc), 10 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and seven years as a Professor at the University of Missouri. I have benefited greatly from the chance to work with many excellent scientists at these and other institutions. My scientific interests include density functional theory, methods for electronic structure calculations various functional materials (superconductors, magnets, ferroelectrics, thermoelectrics, etc.) and chemical systems particularly for catalysis. At the University of Missouri, I taught Physics at levels from Freshman to Ph.D. This has deepened my knowledge and love of science.
