I am a differential geometer and geometric analyst. Most of my research projects are in gauge theory, Floer theory, differential topology, or some intersection of these, and usually in dimensions up to about 8. 

I am also a teacher and have been since 2004. My favorite class to teach is anything I didn't teach last semester. 

I regularly incorporate undergraduates into my research projects. The image to the right was produced for a paper I wrote with students A. Bao, A. Chakraborty, J. Larson, and K. McBride as a part of the REU I supervised at James Madison University in Summer 2025.
