About Me

I grew up in a small farming community near Lansing, MI. I completed my undergraduate degree at Wichita State University in May of 2018 in Mathematics. In May of 2023 I completed my PhD in Mathematical Biology and my MS in Statistics at the University of Tennessee where I was advised by Dr. Christopher Strickland and part of The Strickland Lab. In June of 2023 I joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics

My research projects usually combine approaches from Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science to address scientific questions based in biological topics such as Wildlife Management, Animal Husbandry, Veterinarian Sciences, and Evolutionary Processes.

In my free time I enjoy getting outdoors. I enjoy camping, hiking, birding, and swimming.  I also like traveling, exploring new cultures, and sports. When I can't get outdoors, I enjoy strategic board games and cooking international foods.

My wife (a middle school science teacher at Aquinas Schools) and I have been married since June 2020, and we have a cat named Checkers.
