I am a 6th generation Iowan, a 6th generation Republican and have lived in Chariton, Boone, Davenport and Iowa City. I now help run a family business that invests in property and companies all over Iowa. I have been an active Republican for many years and proudly worked to elect President Trump in 2016 and 2020.
I’ve learned that faith and freedom are the foundations of sound politics and good government. Faith provides the moral grounding needed to make good decisions and freedom is needed for true faith to flourish and for prosperity and security to prevail. I learned about the value of freedom from Milton Friedman as I earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. I have taught economics at the University of Iowa, I have published research in peer reviewed journals, and I was an Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Governor Reynolds appointed me to the Executive Committee of the Rural Empowerment Initiative, which developed and helped implement important legislation to support rural Iowa. Governor Reynolds also appointed me to be a member of the Board of Regents, and I was confirmed by the Iowa Senate. I have worked to protect freedom of speech and to control costs at our public universities.
On the State Central Committee, I led an effort to study the operations of all 50 state Republican parties and implement best practices in Iowa. I also serve on the Budget Committee, which has helped to make RPI financially sound by controlling expenses and raising money. I have helped to introduce new technology to party operations and have communicated regularly with Republicans in the district. I will continue to work hard to elect Republicans to every local, state and federal office.
