My name is David Aduragbemi Okunlola. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP), Florida State University, US. I am in the demography track, focusing on health and social demography. Specifically, I am interested in the social, behavioural, economic and contextual determinants of fertility, mortality, morbidity, migration, sexual and reproductive health and mental health.
I am currently examining the nexus between the dimensions of married women's empowerment and multiple high-risk births in northern Nigeria. I have led studies, one of which explores the drivers of emigration intentions among the working-age population in Nigeria and another on the influence of internet use and exposure to digital family planning messages on sexual agency among partnered women in northern Nigeria.
