As a guitarist Dave has played live shows, recorded and written songs for 25 years, and is a member of BMI. He began performing in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989. After moving to Chico in 1993 Dave continued to perform and record with bands of all styles. Funk, Rock, Reggae, Soul/R&B, Folk, Latin jazz/salsa, West African, and More. Dave also taught guitar classes for High School, College and Private Lessons. Currently he is in the folk duo Sunday Iris, which has released 3 albums and toured all over the west coast.
Having taught Recording Arts for the last 10 years at Butte College, Dave has been able to refine his ear, and dial in the best practices for sharing recording knowledge, while always learning and growing. As an independent engineer and producer he has helped many independent artists make albums. Dave has also recorded and mixed all the Sunday Iris records.
Dave Recorded and Mixed all these albums. Some he mastered. Some he played guitar on. Whatever it takes to get the record sounding amazing, and the artist feeling great about it.
Here are some of the albums recorded and mixed by Dave Elke. All but Kyle Williams were mastered by Dave as well.
