Dave Brandwein is a Los Angeles–based composer, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist creating original music for television, film, advertising, and other visual media.

His recent work includes composing for Netflix’s Power Moves with Shaquille O’Neal, Disney/Pixar's newest Turning Red audiobook, and A+E’s Neighborhood Wars, as well as production music for Shutterstock’s PremiumBeat library and Quiet On The Set, with music used in programming on Bravo, MTV and in national commercial spots. He also creates original loops and samples for Output’s software instruments, including Arcade. Drawing from a background spanning electronic production, live instrumentation, songwriting, and cinematic composition, Dave’s work ranges from intimate, textural scores to rhythm-forward contemporary tracks.

Dave was previously the co-founder, frontman, primary songwriter, and producer of Turkuaz, performing at venues and festivals around the world including Red Rocks, Bonnaroo, and Blue Note Tokyo and collaborating with artists such as Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) and Adrian Belew (King Crimson). He now releases and produces music under the production alias dB Smith and through his indie/rock/folk project, Band For Sale.
