We care for our students, in partnership with parents in a way that provides students with the best. opportunity to achieve success and to enjoy their school years.

One issue that frequently comes up when talking to parents and teachers is mobile phones, social media and the impact it has on their child. The most important things in a student's life are studying. learning good habits and gaining knowledge to become a person with moral character. But today as we see in various studies this optimal learning process is seriously jeopardized by students becoming entrapped by the ploys of social networking.

Actively and frequently participating in social networking can negatively affect their grades or hamper their journeys to their future careers. Our students have become prone to frequent fluctuations in mood and self-

control.

Parents must be aware that their child is neither the victim of cyberbullying or threatening nor the one engaged in such assaults. Social media can be an asset for learning, keeping students connected and engaged with their field, course and peers. Parents, students and the school authorities are a team and we have to complement each others efforts. I am certain through collaborative efforts we can achieve more to benefit our students who are the future of this nation.
