Manana Hakobyan
Manana Hakobyan is a Master's of science candidate at Harvard Institute of Applied Computation and Science pursuing a degree in Data Science. Driven with a dream to see Armenia as world's next datahub, Manana has co-founded DataPoint Armenia and serves as its CEO. Outside of DPA she loves dancing, journaling and traveling.
Michael Abassian
Michael is an MPH Candidate at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health focusing on epidemiology and biostatistics. He has interests in chronic disease, nutrition and causal inference. He is also a co-founder of DPA and co-leads the Data and Health committee.
Taline Mardirossian
Taline Mardirossian is a research data analyst at the Keiser lab at UCSF. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2020 with a degree in Data Science, emphasis in applied mathematics and modeling. Taline is the committee lead for the data projects committee, and is the CPO of DataPoint Armenia.
Lilit Petrosyan
Lilit is a soon to be a graduate of UC Berkeley studying Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Data Science. Lilit's biggest priority and dream is to show the beauty of the data around us and its importance in developing Armenia. She has interests in variety of fields, especially if they have to do with understanding human behavior through data. Lilit is one of the co-founders of DataPoint Armenia and serves as CMO. She focuses on marketing DPA's work and spreading DPA neural network!
Armen Hovannisian
Armen is a UC Berkeley alumnus who studied Data Science with an emphasis on mathematical modeling. He enjoys putting an analytical lens on other disciplines such as linguistics, education, and business. Armen serves as the co-founder and COO of DataPoint Armenia.
Gary Vartanian
Gary Vartanian is a data scientist with previous background in economics and statistics. Gary’s interests are in the intersection of tech, finance, and business. Although his original goal was to be a quant on wall street, Gary uses the same skillsets to help businesses understand their data and help them solve problems. Gary is always looking to learn something new and connect with others. Gary is one of the co-founders of DataPoint Armenia and currently serves as the CFO.
Lara Rostomian
Lara Rostomian is a Master’s of Science candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health getting her degree in Reproductive, Perinatal and Pediatric Epidemiology. Lara is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley (Class of 2020) where she studied Integrative Biology, Global Public Health, and Theater. Her research interests include maternal and infant health disparities in minority populations and conflict affected areas. She is the co-lead of DPA’s Data and Health committee.
Mariam Hovhannisian
Mariam Hovhannisian is a DPA member since May 2020 and has been working on multiple projects including this Business Analytics Workshop, Data Science Armenian Dictionary and others. She is currently learning cybersecurity through online courses and self-education.
Roupen Minassian
Roupen Minassian is a science graduate from the University of Sydney (Class of 2020), where he studied neuroscience and physiology. His interests include chronic pain, network neuroscience and deep learning.
Cris Patvakanian
Cristopher Patvakanian is a researcher and data scientist based in Boston, MA. He has studied economics, government, and political-economy, and researched Armenian Diaspora investment for his undergraduate thesis. He has interned at the Central Bank of Armenia and volunteered briefly for the Aurora Prize Humanitarian Initiative. He is also currently a data science contributor with DataPoint Armenia.
Nanneh Ceras
Nanneh is a Senior Economist at Amazon in Seattle, WA. She grew up in Los Angeles where she completed her BA from UCLA, followed by an MA and PhD in Economics at UC Irvine. Nanneh joined Amazon’s global delivery speed team in 2017 where she has developed causal and predictive models, designed and evaluated large-scale experiments, and led the science vision for new products affecting millions of customers. Nanneh is a Chapter Lead in the Amazon Women in Engineering program, a Chapter President for Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief, and excited to join DataPoint Armenia in their mission to invest in Armenia’s data science industry.
Aren Kabarajian
Aren Kabarajian is from Long Island, NY and is now located in Brookyln, NY. He is currently working as a Machine Learning Consultant for the NY MTA and a Master's student at NYU's Center for Urban Science and Progress. Some things that get Aren excited are good examples of data+design working together, Tennis and a cool smelling candle.
Souren Papazian
Souren studied computer science at Columbia, worked as a data engineer for a several years at Yelp and is now working as a game engineer at a small studio in California.
Hovhannes Aleqyan
Hovik is interested in the development of technological tools that complement and augment human capabilities, thus forming a collective intelligence between the machine and its user.
After spending a considerable amount of time exploring metaphysics and political philosophy, he has come to the conclusion that formal systems provide the best theoretical framework for analyzing and understanding questions of metaphysical and even moral matters. With this conclusion, he has shifted his academic interests from Philosophy and Ethics to Computational Sciences and Formal Logic.
Arpine Keyan
Arpine is a Junior ML engineer now with Fraud Risk Management (1.5years) and Aerospace Engineering (10years) background and mathematical education (Yerevan State University, Master of Mathematics and Mechanics). Enough-versed in programming languages including SAS, C++, Python, also in Data analysis processes with Excel. Hands – on experienced in technical documentation development processes including quality standards development and integration.
