VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Our school can always use volunteers! DATA PTSA volunteers can help with school dances, quarterly Renaissance celebrations, Minga Store, College & Career Day, DATA Fest and teacher appreciation week, among other volunteer opportunities. More details below...

Open Volunteer Opportunities (One-time or multiple)

• Minga Store prize distribution (during school lunch - monthly): 40 minutes during lunchtime on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 12:50-1:30pm.  Next up: Nov 17, 18, 19. Choose any of the days or come for multiple days to help with the DATA Minga store where students redeem prizes for points earned. RSVP and Volunteer form (one-time) required. SIGN UP.

• Dia de los Muertos: Thurs. Oct. 22nd. Shifts are 4:30-6 and 5:30-7:15pm. Selling chips, drinks and potentially marshmallow art. :) SIGN UP.

• Quarter 1 Renaissance Celebration recognizing academic achievement: Oct. 23rd 11-12:30 (organized by ASB/Leadership). SIGN UP.

• Business outreach: On your own time contact businesses to sponsor our school this fall! Looking to start asap. Email deanzaptsa@gmail.com for more information.

Help on your own schedule

• Share our sponsorship information with one local business, employer, or community contact.

• Help us identify businesses that may want to support DATA students.

• Make an introduction and let PTSA handle the follow-up.

Even one business introduction is helpful.

Interested in a behind-the-scenes leadership role?

We are also looking for a Treasurer. This may be a good fit for someone who enjoys staying organized and helping things run smoothly. The estimated commitment is fewer than five hours per month, including one one-hour meeting, one 90-minute meeting, and routine financial tasks such as writing checks.

You are welcome to request more information or have a conversation with us before deciding. Asking about the position is not a commitment.

• Other short-term projects as they arise

One hour is enough. One introduction is enough. Helping one time is valuable.

Volunteering does not have to mean joining a committee, attending every meeting, or committing for the entire school year. You can help for one short shift, complete a small task from home, volunteer only when your schedule allows, or simply ask questions before deciding.

Volunteering can be a meaningful way to feel more connected to your student’s school, meet other DATA families and staff, and contribute in a way that matches your own interests and strengths—without taking on more than you have time for.

DATA PTSA is just getting started, so you do not need previous PTA experience or existing connections. New ideas and new faces are welcome. For each opportunity, we will provide clear information about what you will be doing, how long it will take, and who will be there to help.
