Welcome to my personal website! I'm Dasol Kim, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology. With a strong academic background and expertise in tropical cyclone research, climate variability, meteorological hazard and risk, remote sensing, numerical and statistical modelling, and artificial intelligence, I'm dedicated to advancing our understanding of extreme weather phenomena. 

I completed my Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Seoul National University and now contribute to the field of geography as a Research Scholar and Courtesy Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. Previously, I gained valuable experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research Institute for Basic Sciences, Seoul National University. 

My research encompasses various aspects of Tropical Cyclones, including their genesis, track, intensity, rainfall patterns, and extratropical transition. Additionally, I explore climate variability, employ remote sensing techniques, and leverage numerical and statistical modeling approaches. I am particularly excited about utilizing artificial intelligence to gain insights into meteorological phenomena, supported by a grant from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
