The DASH: Young Designers Scholarship Fund is committed to the education of outstanding Design and Architecture Senior High students through annual design competitions and pre-college experiences. Funded by Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz along with John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The program provides merit and need-based scholarships to support students.
2023 Arch and ID Competition
Annually, 40 students selected by their teachers on the basis of merit, receive full scholarships to attend pre-college programs over the summer in New York; Attending the School of Visual Arts and Parsons the New School of Design. 30 students attend SVA and 10 students attend Parsons The New School of Design.
Architecture and Industrial Design students participate in a rigorous competition to create the designs of the future. Upon the completion of their projects, all participants receive monetary scholarships to aid them in their transition from high school to college.

Since 2011, the Miami Foundation has served as the fiscal agent of the YDSF managing the distribution and intake of all funds related to these DASH programs.
