The Story of Darul Akhyaar International School

Darul Akhyaar International School traces its roots to a noble mission of Qur'anic education, Islamic scholarship, and community development.

The journey began in Offa, Kwara State, when the founder and proprietor, a Hafizul-Qur'an (Memorizer of the Noble Qur'an), was invited to serve at Abubakr Sodiq School, Offa, as a Qur'anic instructor. During this period, a major Islamic programme featuring renowned lecturer Mallam Yusuf Adepoju was organized in Offa. The programme attracted thousands of participants and became a turning point in the history of the institution.

By the grace of Allah, the founder was honoured with the opportunity to recite the opening verses of the Noble Qur'an during the programme. His remarkable recitation and passion for Islamic education inspired many individuals to seek knowledge under his guidance. People from different backgrounds expressed interest in learning Qur'an recitation, Tajweed, Arabic Language, and Islamic studies.

As the number of learners increased, a formal educational structure became necessary. Consequently, a constitution was drafted and an institution known as Teachers Training College in Qur'an, Tajweed and Arabic Studies was established. The entrance examination was held on 26th June 2011 at Oja-Oba Central Mosque, Offa, Kwara State.

The institution later secured a permanent study centre at Musulumi Nfe Alafia Mosque, Film House, Offa, Kwara State, one of the largest mosques in the town, with a capacity to accommodate over 300 students at a time.

The institution operated through four major departments:

- Qur'an Department

- Arabic Language Department

- Foundation Class Programme (FCP)

- Islamic Studies and Teacher Training Department

Students were drawn from various communities, including Offa Polytechnic, Madrasahs, neighbouring towns, professionals, traders, community leaders, and people from different walks of life who desired sound Islamic knowledge.

As the institution expanded, it gained recognition for excellence in Qur'anic memorization, Tajweed, Arabic Language, and Islamic scholarship. The educational centre officially commenced operations on 26th June 2011 and later received Federal Government approval in July 2021.

In June 2015, the institution relocated to Ibadan, Oyo State, where it continued its activities under the name Darul Akhyaar Arabic Training Centre, focusing primarily on Madrasah and Islamic education. This phase continued successfully until January 2022.

Throughout these years, extensive efforts were made to study, develop, and adopt modern educational systems and administrative structures. With a clear vision of integrating sound Islamic values with quality Western education, the institution evolved into what is today known as Darul Akhyaar International School.

The institution received approval to operate Western education and was formally recognized as Darul Akhyaar International School. Full academic operations commenced during the Second Term of the 2021/2022 Academic Session in April 2022.

Today, Darul Akhyaar International School has grown into a reputable institution committed to academic excellence, moral uprightness, Islamic values, and technological advancement. The school has obtained various statutory registrations, certifications, and approvals, including educational approvals, pension compliance registrations, communication service approvals, payment system registrations, and other operational certifications required for effective educational service delivery.

From a humble Qur'anic training initiative to a comprehensive educational institution, Darul Akhyaar International School remains dedicated to nurturing future leaders through quality education, sound morals, and the fear of Allah.
